Make Fabeo videos from Claude or ChatGPT

Connect your Fabeo account once, then ask your assistant to write, edit and render videos for you in plain language. It uses the same account, videos and credits as fabeo.ai.

Add Fabeo to Claude

Works on claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app. Once it's connected, it's available on mobile too.

  1. Open Customize›Connectors.
  2. Click +, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Fabeo and paste the server URL. Leave Advanced settings empty, then click Add.

  4. Click Connect. A Fabeo page opens. Sign in, then click Allow (what you're allowing).
  5. In a chat, click + in the bottom-left, open Connectors and switch Fabeo on. Now ask for a video.
On a Team or Enterprise plan? An owner adds Fabeo once under Organization settings›Connectors›Add›Custom›Web. Each member then clicks Connect next to Fabeo in Customize›Connectors and signs in with their own Fabeo account.

Add Fabeo to ChatGPT

Custom connectors live in ChatGPT's developer mode, on the web.

  1. Turn on developer mode: Settings›Security and login›Developer mode. On Business, Enterprise or Edu, your workspace admin may need to allow it first.
  2. Go to Plugins and click + to create a developer-mode app.
  3. Name it Fabeo, add a short description (for example “Create and edit Fabeo videos”) and choose a Public endpoint connection with the server URL. If it asks how to authenticate, choose OAuth.

  4. Create it, sign in to Fabeo on the page that opens, and click Allow.
  5. In a chat, click + in the message box, choose Developer mode and select Fabeo. It helps to name it in your request, for example “Use Fabeo to…”.
ChatGPT asks you to confirm actions that change things, such as creating, rendering or deleting a video. Read what it's about to do before you approve, especially anything that spends credits.

Claude Code, and other tools

In a terminal with Claude Code installed, add the server:

claude mcp add --transport http fabeo https://mcp.fabeo.ai/mcp

Then start claude, type /mcp, choose fabeo and select Authenticate. Your browser opens the same Fabeo sign-in page.

Other apps that support remote MCP servers with OAuth, such as Cursor, connect the same way: add https://mcp.fabeo.ai/mcp as a server and sign in when prompted.

Signing in, and what you're allowing

When you connect, a Fabeo page opens on mcp.fabeo.ai. Sign in with Google or have us email you a sign-in code, using the account you use on fabeo.ai. Fabeo then shows exactly what the assistant will be able to do, and nothing is connected until you click Allow.

Your videos
It can see, create and edit your videos and see your credit balance, the same as you can on fabeo.ai.
Spending limit
Each connection can spend at most 150 credits in total. To keep going after that, disconnect and connect again, which starts a new 150-credit limit.
Staying signed in
The connection renews itself for about 30 days. After that, you'll be asked to sign in again.
Disconnecting
Remove Fabeo from your assistant's connectors. To cut off a connection you can't reach any more, such as on a lost device, contact Fabeo support.

What you can ask

Talk to it the way you'd brief an editor. Here's what happens behind the scenes, and where credits come in:

You describe the video→Script, scene by scene (free)→You review and edit (free)→Render (credits)→Link to the finished video

Rendering costs about 1 credit per second of finished video, so a 30-second video uses about 30. Your assistant should tell you the cost and wait for your OK before it renders. A render takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Fix a finished video

Only the scenes you change are re-rendered, and then the video is put back together.

In scene 2 the voice says “marathons” oddly and adds a word I didn't write. Fix the line and re-render just that scene.

In scenes 2 and 4 he's wearing a grey top. Make it the bright orange running singlet from the other scenes, then re-render those two.

Scene 1's opening shot feels flat. Try a different key frame for it.
Uses credits
Using your own photos (a person's face or a product shot) and your own opening frame for a scene need the assistant to upload an image file. That works in tools that can upload files, like Claude Code. In the Claude and ChatGPT chat apps, upload the images on fabeo.ai, then carry on in chat.

Troubleshooting

“Your Fabeo account isn't fully set up yet”

Sign in once on fabeo.ai to finish creating your account, then connect again from your assistant.

The sign-in code email doesn't arrive

Check spam and promotions folders, and make sure it's the email address you use on fabeo.ai. Codes expire after a few minutes. Go back and request a new one if needed.

The assistant says it has reached its spending limit

Each connection can spend up to 150 credits. Disconnect Fabeo in your assistant's connector settings and connect again to start a new limit. Your account balance itself is separate. Top it up on fabeo.ai.

The assistant doesn't use Fabeo

In Claude, make sure Fabeo is switched on under + › Connectors for that chat. In ChatGPT, pick Fabeo under + › Developer mode. Mentioning it helps: “Use Fabeo to…”.

I can't find developer mode in ChatGPT

It's available on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu. On a workspace plan, an admin may need to allow developer mode or custom connectors first.

The video isn't ready

Rendering takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Ask “Is my video done yet?”. While a scene is being redone, the link keeps showing the previous version until the new one is ready.

Fabeo uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with OAuth sign-in. Steps for Claude and ChatGPT reflect their settings as of September 2026, and menu names may change.
